Plantation Pine Products Is Gearing Up

Plantation Pine Products continues to move forward on its $25 million sawmill upgrade investment at Thomasville, Ga. Operated by Steve Conner of the well respected Conner family of lumbermen in Georgia, the site is the former Hood Industries sawmill, which had been idled in 2023 and was sold to Plantation Pine Products last year. Hood Industries had purchased the sawmill from Metcalfe Lumber in 2005.

Plantation Pine Products hosted an official opening this spring for state and local dignitaries and supporters. The mill will produce 2 in. lumber and small timbers. Steve Conner indicated he plans to build a pellet mill as well.
