Fulghum Completes First 155-Ft., 45-Ton Crane Installation

Fulghum Industries has completed installation and certification of a 155-ft., 45-ton log crane at Burt Lumber in Washington, Ga., marking the first crane of that size built by the company.

Certified on April 27, 2026, the crane was designed to fit within the physical constraints of Burt Lumber’s existing log yard while providing the lifting capacity needed for daily operations.

The project was developed in collaboration with Burt Lumber owners Burt and Barry Goolsby, who sought to replace an existing crane with a machine suited to the facility’s layout and production requirements.

Barry Goolsby said he was pleased with both the process and the finished installation.

The commissioning represents a milestone for Fulghum and adds another large-scale crane project to the company’s portfolio serving the forest products industry.
