Familiar Face Behind Peak Renewables
Recently, Peak Renewables purchased Canfor’s forest tenure in the Fort Nelson region and Canfor’s Fort Nelson mill assets, including an idle sawmill and OSB facilities. The site reportedly has buildings, a log pond and a biomass energy plant. The new mill will export its pellets to Asia.
The Peak Renewables executive team includes founder and chairman, Brian Fehr. He is a co-founder of BID Group, which had tremendous success with the turnkey supply and construction of sawmills in the Southeast U.S.

Mercer Purchases Germany’s HIT
Mercer International Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire all of the outstanding shares of the parent company of HIT (Holz Industrie Torgau) for €270 million.
