Wyoming’s Bearlodge FP Announces Closure

After nearly five decades of service, Bearlodge Forest Products, Inc. will be closing all sawmill and pallet operations on October 31, 2026. The family-owned company, which operates a sawmill and pallet mill, said the decision resulted from a combination of challenges, including high input costs, limited labor and housing availability, and sustained downward pricing trends. Owned by Doug and Dena Mills, the closure marks the end of one of Wyoming’s few pallet manufacturing operations.

In a statement, the Mills family said, “What has mattered most is the relationships we’ve built with employees, contractors, customers, vendors, and the community that has supported our family for nearly fifty years. Hulett has been our home, and it will continue to be.”
