Sierra Pacific Installing Solar Panels
Continuing its commitment to sustainable energy, Sierra Pacific Industries is installing 30 acres of solar panels near its Red Bluff, Calif. offices. The project, which consists of 30,240 panels, is expected to be complete by December.
The $12 million solar installation is projected to generate more than $1 million a year in power savings. The move into solar reflects Sierra Pacific’s long-time commitment to renewable energy as evidenced by the state of the art cogeneration plants at seven of the company’s 14 sawmills that run off mill and log yard residuals. The new solar facility will supply power to Sierra Pacific millworks plant and office and its windows plant and office.
