Riverside Seeks To Open Washington Mill Facility
More than a decade after another mill closed at the same site in the Forks, Wash. industrial park, Canada-based Riverside Industries is planning to invest $12 million and open a sawmill facility and potentially a new cogeneration plant.
The site was previously used by Allen Logging and Interfor but has sat idle for more than 10 years. Riverside’s U.S. subsidiary, Riverside Forest Products USA, plans to begin construction this year and begin operations later in 2026. The facility will produce kiln-dried Douglas fir and hemlock. The Clallam Economic Development Council secured a $200,000 grant to fund electrical system upgrades and other infrastructure improvements.
