Oregon State To Host Lumber Drying Workshop

Oregon State University in Corvallis will host “How to Dry Lumber for Quality and Profit” on December 16-18, 2025. This is the 76th annual offering of such a workshop for kiln operators, supervisors, and other mill personnel. Participants will be taken through wood as a material and how it dries, providing a basis for a discussion of kiln schedules, before continuing on to kiln design, operation, and maintenance. Other areas of instruction include stacking, loading, and running the kiln, moisture measurement, plus collecting and interpreting measurements.

Registration is open until November 27, and a full agenda of the program is available on the Oregon State website. Visit workspace.oregonstate.edu
