Familiar Face Behind Peak Renewables
Recently, Peak Renewables purchased Canfor’s forest tenure in the Fort Nelson region and Canfor’s Fort Nelson mill assets, including an idle sawmill and OSB facilities. The site reportedly has buildings, a log pond and a biomass energy plant. The new mill will export its pellets to Asia.
The Peak Renewables executive team includes founder and chairman, Brian Fehr. He is a co-founder of BID Group, which had tremendous success with the turnkey supply and construction of sawmills in the Southeast U.S.

U.S. Housing Starts Fall While Building Permits Rise
U.S. housing starts fell in August from July, at a seasonally adjusted rate of 1.283 million, down 11.3%.
